Meeting 4 of 2014/2015 Minutes of the Ordinary Meeting of Stutton cum Hazlewood Parish Council held at 19.30 hrs on Thursday 4th September 2014 at Stutton Village Hall
Present:- Cllr Fawcett (Chair), Cllr Birchall, Cllr Heard, Cllr Wrigglesworth, Cllr Aarons, Tadcaster Town and District Cllr Mackay, NYCC Cllr. Metcalfe, Tadcaster Town and District Cllr Sweeting.

The meeting began with the Chairman asking Mr.Grayson if he wished to address the Council.
Mr Grayson stated that he wished to update the Parish Council with regard to the current position relating to St Aidan’s Church. Mr Grayson advised that there had been 35 objections to the recent planning application and matters had progressed in consideration of reviewing flaws under the application, and having the Church placed on the list of assets to the community, opening up the opportunity for the village to forward some form of alternative use/bid for the site. Discussions continued covering continued use of the building with suggestions that the Parish Council should consider asking if they could administer the building for use by the community, subject to a peppercorn rent. Parish Councillors to prepare a letter to provide details in support of this proposal, addressing the issues to the ArchBishop of York, Bishop of Selby and other relevant parties, with an invitation to visit the Church site.

14042 MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS – The minutes of the Ordinary Parish Council Mmeeting held 10th July 2014 having been read were agreed as a true record, and it was resolved that the receipts and payments as recorded under the minutes were accepted.

14044 VILLAGE HALL AND GROUNDS – A bees’ nest in the village hall grounds had been reported and dealt with by “Backhouse” pest control company.

14049 COMMUNITY GOVERNANCE REVIEW –Parish Council discussed expression of interest from Tadcaster Town Council to change Parish boundary line with the result that parts of Woodlands and Hawthorn Estates (280 properties) would transfer from Stutton Parish Council to Tadcaster Town Council, with letter of objections to be sent to Richard Besley (Democratic Services Officer) by 8th September 2014.
14050 GRASS CUTTING – Parish Council await details from NYCC (Scheduled October 2014) re revisions to NYCC grass cutting operations, with probable reductions limiting cutting to meet the needs of safety requirements only. Parish Council have given consideration to minimal affordable grass cutting within the finance of the Parish precept, with Councillor Wrigglesworth reviewing areas and methods of cut with potential tenderers.

14053 The next ordinary meeting of the Parish Council was confirmed as Thursday 9th October 2014 at 7.30 pm.
PART II –
Clerk tabled his resignation, advising that due to ill health he did not feel that he could provide full commitment to the requirements of the position. Parish Council and Clerk discussed replacement, advertisement and interim actions.
There was no further business and the meeting closed 21.15 hrs.
