Minutes of the extra-ordinary meeting of Stutton cum Hazlewood Parish Council held on Tuesday 15th December at 19:30 in the Stutton Village Hall

Three members of the public: James and Abigail Carter, Keith Tillett.
1. Proper Officer
In the unavoidable absence of the Interim Clerk, Cllr Birchall undertook the duties of Clerk for the meeting.
2. Welcome
The Chairman welcomed Councillors and visitors to the meeting and reminded visitors and Councillors of the protocol for the public forum and the meeting.
3. Declarations of interest
None applicable.
4. Public Forum
(i) Mr and Mrs Carter presented a document relating to the planning application they had submitted for 15 Weedling Gate, Stutton and outlined the reasoning underlying their proposals. They explained that they had originally inadvertently omitted to seek planning permission for a fence with maximum height of 1.65m at the front of the property, but that an amendment to the application had now been submitted to Selby DC.
(ii) Mr Tillett expressed concern about the outline planning application for an additional dwelling on Mill Lane, Stutton. In particular he stated that, as the landowner concerned, he would not be prepared to release his land as required on the plans to provide an adequate sight line to the proposed entrance to the property.

6. Planning
6.1 2015/1239/HPA
Proposed two storey extension with internal alterations and new chimney, re-tiling and new windows to main house and new pitched roof to garage at 15 Weedling Gate, Stutton, Tadcaster, LS24 9BS.
The Council had no objection to these proposed extensions and fencing, provided that the materials used for the stonework and tiling were in keeping with Character Area 2 of the Village Design Statement.
6.2 2015/1254/OUT
Outline application for the erection of new detached dwelling on land adjacent to new dwelling previously approved (ref. 2015/0271/OUT).
The Council wished to object strongly to this proposal. The proposed development was outside the village boundary and would require access close to a dangerous corner on Mill Lane.
6.3 2015/1300/HPA
Proposal to extend height of house roof by 900mm to create second storey accommodation at New Buildings Farm, Weedling Gate, Stutton, Tadcaster, LS24 9BQ.
As the documentation relating to this application had not been received from Selby DC, consideration had to be deferred. The Council therefore requests Selby DC to accept comments after its next meeting on 14th January 2016.
6.4 2015/0168/FUL
Appeal against refusal of application for proposed erection of a replacement dwelling at Peggy Ellerton Farm, Chantry Lane, Hazlewood, Tadcaster, LS24 9NH.
The Council reiterated its previous view that it had no objection to the proposed replacement dwelling provided that the building was in keeping with the locality.
